10 miles from the city of Winchester and 25 miles from the New Forest, a range of interesting things to do is close to hand.

There are plenty of facilities on the holiday park itself if you want to stay put and take it easy. A shop, cafe and children's play area can be found at the Forest Retreat - and this is where you can hire mountain bikes or book an activity with the Forest Ranger.

Silver Birch 2

A wooden cabin with a contemporary interior, there are 2 bedrooms – a double with en-suite bathroom and a twin room. The living area has large picture windows, sofas and a flat-screen TV. The kitchen-diner is fitted with a dishwasher and microwave. On the outside deck is the hot tub and garden furniture.

Golden Oak 1

Perfect for a romantic break for two, this cabin has one double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom. Outside on the timber deck is a private hot tub and garden furniture. The living area has a log burner, sofa and TV. In the kitchen is a dishwasher, microwave, table and chairs. Little extras include the use of bathrobes and toiletries in the bathroom.

Golden Oak 3

A luxurious, wooden cabin with three bedrooms, sleeping up to 6 people. The double bedroom has an en-suite bathroom plus there are two twin rooms. On the deck outside is a private hot tub, gas barbecue and garden furniture. The lounge boasts a log burner and the kitchen has a microwave and dishwasher. The use of two bathrobes and complimentary toiletries are added extras.

Activities in the Winchester Area

Blackwood Forest offers an escape from everyday life. But it is also close to Winchester, Andover and the North Wessex Downs so there is lots to explore within striking distance.

The city of Winchester has a lot to offer visitors. The magnificent Winchester Cathedral has 1000 years of history to discover with tours available daily. Winchester’s Great Hall has King Arthur’s Round Table and other remains from the Castle dating back to the 13th century. Wander around the streets of the city and enjoy the atmosphere – there are eateries of every kind and the shopping here is hard to beat.

Marwell Zoo is not far away where you’ll find exotic animals such as leopards, tigers, lemurs and penguins. There is a train to board and adventure playgrounds too, and this zoo is open all year around. Little tots will love Paultons Family Theme Park because it’s home to Peppa Pig World. There are 9 Pippa-themed rides along with other attractions, and it’s all a 40-minute drive from Blackwood Forest.
