Cayton Bay is only 1.5 miles from the house and just the place for dogs to play – the beach permits dogs on the sands all year around. And for miles of hiking routes, the North York Moors are nearby too.

Activities in the cayton area

The nearest village to Carr House is Cayton – it’s just half a mile away. This little place has a fish and chip shop, pub and post office so all your essentials are covered. 

Drive for 3 miles and you reach the seaside resort of Scarborough. This town has welcomed holidaymakers for 400 years and is a favourite with every age group.

There are 2 bays, North and South, and both offer wide sands and a choice of things to do. There are the ruins of a castle, amusement arcades and seaside shops to spend time in. For sporty types you can paddle board or surf and for animal lovers there’s the Sea Life sanctuary and a petting farm.

Whitby is further along the coast, famous for its fish and chips, wide beach and its connections to Bram Stoker’s Dracula. There’s even a goth festival in Whitby – it takes place twice a year around Halloween and Easter. For long hikes across moorland and through forest, the North York Moors are inland too.

Carr House is ideal for a larger group who want a holiday home to spread out in. The garden is sprawling and comes with a hot tub and outdoor dining area that is perfect for warm evenings. Two dogs are welcome at this property, and they will love spending time on Cayton Bay beach or walking on the nearby North York Moors.This seaside town is a favourite with families of all ages. Filey Beach can be reached in about 12 minutes offering a quieter stretch of sand. There’s a bird sanctuary here and in the winter months, the occasional seal can be spotted coming on to bask on the sands.

A detached farmhouse that is all on the ground floor with 4 bedrooms and room for 9 people. There are 2 living rooms, one has an open fire, 48-inch TV, a piano and double doors opening onto the patio.

The farmhouse-style kitchen is fully fitted and has a dishwasher, plus a utility room with washing machine. A conservatory is also available. The bedrooms are a king size, double and 2 twins with an extra z-bed for the 9th person.

There's a bathrooms and shower room. The garden is large and has a hot tub, barbecue, summerhouse and outside dining area.
