The 4 bedrooms offer plenty of space for 8 people and the living-dining room is large and comfortable – a real home from home.Whitby can be reached in around 20 minutes. This popular seaside town has lots going on with family activities, museums, great places to eat and a choice of shops. Down on the beach, fossil hunting will keep old and young enthralled for hours.

The North York Moors offers plenty of space to walk – your pooch and you can wander for miles. Staithes beach is dog friendly and permits pooches all year round.

Activities in the staithes area

Staithes is a fishing village on the Yorkshire coast that offers peace and tranquillity. There’s a harbour and a beach where it’s fun to go fossil hunting. A few local shops, a seaside pub and a coffee shop can be found in the town. 

For walking, there’s a 4-mile route here that takes you to the pretty village of Runswick Bay.

Whitby is a little further along the coast with historical buildings, museums, restaurants and plenty of activities. You can book a Captain Hook boat cruise, go pony trekking, do some shopping and visit art galleries.

At Whitby Abbey, made famous by author Bram Stoker, there are events and festivals all year round to enjoy. The North York Moors National Park is the place to hike and spot wildlife.

You can walk for miles with the family and the dog here, or board the steam train and see the glorious landscape from the train windows.
