From Pettaugh Lodge you are close to the village of Debenham which has a range of shops, pubs and restaurants. Another fantastic town to visit is the vibrant market town of Stowmarket.

If you miss the big city Stowmarket has a direct rail link to London, Bury St Edmunds and Ipswich. The Museum of East Anglian Life offers up the history and natural world of East Anglia on our beautiful 75-acre site. Explore nearly 3km of woodland and riverside nature trails.

The whole family will enjoy the Mid Suffolk Light Railway Museum. The Mid-Suffolk Light Railway Museum is Suffolk's only standard gauge steam railway. Known as the 'Middy', this charming little line, running from Haughley to Laxfield ran for almost 50 years before it closed in 1952. The tracks were lifted but thanks to a group of devotees the train line was revived in the '90s.

A trip to the once disturbing attraction of Orford Ness National Nature Reserve, which is now one of the most important single features in the world. Orford Ness National Nature Reserve contains the ruined relics of an evil past. Rare and delicate wildlife thrives where armaments, including atomic bombs, were once tested and ultimately perfected.

Framlingham has a 12th-century castle and Woodbridge has sailing on the River Deben. Explore the many picturesque. Sutton Hoo boasts an ancient Anglo Saxon burial ground.
