By Car
Located on the south coast of Devon, if you’re travelling by car from the north, head for the M1 or M6 until Birmingham then take the M5 southbound to Exeter finally join the A380 onwards to Torquay.
From London, start by take the M4 towards Bristol and then join the M5 southbound once again changing to the A380 for the final stages of your journey.

By Train
Torquay has excellent rail links and can be reached from all over the UK changing at Bristol or Exeter. There is a regular service to and from London Paddington which takes around 3 hours and Birmingham takes around 3 and a half hours.

Step into the stone age with a visit Kent’s Cavern- one of the country’s finest show caves. During the guided tour you will learn how the caves were formed millions of years ago and marvel at the stalagmites and stalactites. See the teeth and bones of ice age animals and discover secrets from a bygone age. The tour itself takes around an hour but there are coastal walks, kid’s activities and an adventure trail to explore as well along with an excellent café and well-stocked souvenir shop.

Torre Abbey Sands / Corbyn Sands
A small sandy beach right in the heart of Torquay by the palm-lined promenade ideal to sit with an ice-cream and gaze out to sea. High tides will cover most the sand but there is safe swimming, toilets, a café, deckchairs for hire and a beach shop

Maidencombe Beach
This sand and shingle beach doesn’t get as busy as some of the others, so you can always find space to unwind. There is ample parking, a café, shop and sunbed hire available.

This idyllic sandy beach in a secluded cove is surrounded by cliffs and woodland access is by a steep path. The café and toilets are open from May until September and the nearest car park is a short walk away,

This is a fantastic sand and shingle beach for all ages! Little ones can paddle in the shallows while the more adventurous have a variety of water sports to choose from. It is accessible via a steep road or the famous Babbacombe Cliff Funicular Railway.

Babbacombe Beach
This sheltered sand and shingle beach a little east of Torquay is ideal for Scuba diving, sailing and fishing, there is limited parking but there is a café, toilet and deckchair hire during the summer months
