The Lookout cottage at Underwood Farm is close to Chepstow in Wales and the border with England. The Forest of Dean and Wye Valley are within easy reach plus Gloucester and Bristol are nearby too.

The location is perfect for discovering the natural scenery of two pretty counties. This detached cottage has been furnished luxuriously, with fine fittings in every room.

The 6-person hot tub and large themed garden at the front of the property make this holiday home extra special. The lounge area is modern with bi-folding doors and to self-cater in comfort, the kitchen has all the mod cons you require.

There’s a six-person hot tub with The Lookout at Underwood Farm.

It’s tucked away in a secluded area offering peace and quiet. At the front of the cottage, there are themed garden areas – one area is inspired by Japan and another has a beach hut feel. 

The Accommodation

LODGES OR COTTAGES?

There are just two holiday cottages at here, both facing the water of the Severn River below. 

They are single-storey and detached, with a lovely garden area at the front for quiet relaxation. There is use of a hot tub, a barbecue and plush garden furniture that includes a swing seat. 

Pet Friendly

The accommodation at Underwood farm does not permit dogs to stay. The Forest of Dean is a great place to take dogs as there are lots of walking trails to explore. To take your family pet away on holiday with you, have a look at the dog-friendly property that is available nearby.

Activities In The Chepstow Area

With Chepstow, the Forest of Dean and the Wye Valley within easy reach, there is plenty to do and see in the area. With two counties to discover, you are spoilt for choice here. 

The walled, Norman town of Chepstow is 3 miles from The Lookout cottage. Here there is a ruined castle on the banks of the River Wye and a well-known race course. A lively market town, this is the place to come locally for shops, cafes and restaurants. At the village of Tintern, the 12th century Abbey is an amazing site to explore. With arches and windows still intact, it is a photographers dream location.

For walkers and ramblers, there is a lot to offer here. The Forest of Dean has Puzzlewood, an ancient woodland that is striking to look at. There is also a sculpture trail in the forest, where woodland paths take you to art installations in amongst the trees. The Wye Valley has hiking trails galore, and this is also the place where you can find activities of an adventurous kind. Kayaking, climbing and paddle boarding can be booked, as can horse riding and boating. 

A Final Note

Families enjoy spending time in The Forest of Dean and Wye Valley area. Rambling and hiking through the countryside, with stunning views to take in, is all part of the appeal. For lovers of outdoor pursuits, there is a range of activities to enjoy close by too. And if you are looking for peace and quiet, then that is available as well.

The Outlook cottage has been thoughtfully equipped to make sure guests have a comfortable holiday. A fully fitted kitchen is there make self-catering easy, and a comfy lounge gives you somewhere to relax inside. The hot tub, pretty garden and views across the countryside are the icing on the cake.
