Activities In The benson-on-thames area

The countryside of South Oxfordshire is stunning. It is sprinkled with pretty villages and great family pubs. Perfect for a relaxing holiday or weekend away.

The Thames Path is more than 150 miles long and it starts near the source of the Thames in Gloucestershire and continues to the Barrier in London. You can cycle or walk along a picturesque section in the Benson area – cover as many miles as you like. If you prefer to be on the water itself, you can rent a canoe or hire a day boat from the holiday park.

Wallingford is nearby, a nice village with handy shops and a meadow featuring the remains of Wallingford Castle. A 10-mile drive away is Oxford, packed with things to see and do. There is the famous university to see, plus a castle and prison, the Ashmolean Museum and the pretty cobbled streets. There are punting trips along the river and antique shops to enjoy too. There is a lively high street for a shopping trip and the choice of places to eat and drink is huge.
