White cross bay is set in 60 acres of woodland and boasts around 400 lodges. Close to the towns of Bowness, Windermere and Ambleside it is the perfect base to explore the country's largest national park.
With magical scenery and tons of activities and attractions there is plenty to occupy your days and in the evening what could be better than unwinding in your own private hot tub and gazing at the stars.
There are excellent onsite facilities including an indoor pool, sauna, gym (pass required) shop, restaurant pub, amusement arcade, entertainment room and a marina. Brockhole Visitor Centre with its tree top trails, extensive grounds and a variety of activities for a fun day out, is just a short walk away.

Fantastic onsite facilities
The privacy and comfort of your own home with all the best a modern hotel has to offer; White Cross bay provides everything you need for a superb family break. Guests can make use of the indoor heated swimming pool, steam room and sauna or if feeling more energetic use the onsite gym (passes cost £15 and are available from reception) There is also a well- stocked shop, amusement arcade and playground for the kids and a restaurant and bar overlooking the marina which serves delicious food and also has a takeaway menu.
Owls Nook provides traditional cosy accommodation on one level comprising of 3 bedrooms, 2 with double beds and 1 with triple bunk beds each has a television so no arguments about what to watch. There is a family shower room and open plan style living area with large leather corner sofa, flat screen TV and electric fire for chilly evenings. A well equipped kitchen with fridge-freezer, full-sized electric cooker and microwave makes self-catering a breeze and the modern dining table seats 6. Patio doors lead to a decked area with garden furniture for al-fresco dining and that all-important hot tub.
Brockhole Visitor Centre
Only a short stroll away from the holiday park is Brockhole visitor centre, where you will find an action packed fun day out for all the family. Enjoy a stroll round the extensive grounds and marvel at the views or try one of the various activities they have on offer such as archery, mini golf or pony rides, hire a boat or paddle board, take a cruise across the lake or try out their tree top trails among 250-year old oak trees before zip-wiring to the lakeshore. There is an adventure playground, all weather play area and lots of exhibitions throughout the year along with a gift shop for all those mementoes and a terrace cafe with stunning views across the lake.

A hot tub is the ultimate tool for relaxation, unfortunately they are a little bit out of most people's price range. Staying at Owls Nook gives you the opportunity to indulge in luxury. Situated on the southern shore of the lake at one of the docking points of Windermere lakes cruises you will find the Lakes Aquarium. With over 30 naturally themed habitats showing life in lakes around the world is an excellent day out. See otters playing, diving ducks, sharks, stingrays and pike, before enjoying a snack at the lakeside cafe once again with fantastic views. This is an excellent place to visit on those days when the weather isn't great.
White Cross Bay has free Wi-Fi across the park so you can still keep in touch with the world and teenagers will not go into meltdown because they can't access Facebook or Snapchat. Because of the location there may be certain areas where the signal is intermittent but you will be able to check your emails or important messages.
