Activities in the local area

Hornsea is a seaside town with a sand and shingle beach. It’s also the end of the 215-mile Trans Pennine Trail walking route so you can take your pick from relaxing days tucking to ice-cream or long hikes in the countryside.

At Hornsea, the beach is doggy friendly if you go the southern end. In the main stretch, there are cafes and chip shops to keep you refreshed. The town itself has a folk museum and inside you can browse the biggest collection of Hornsea Pottery in the world. Next to the museum is the Bettison’s Folly, a strange structure that is worth a quick look.

If you’re in town in July, don’t miss the carnival, it’s a fun event enjoyed by all. Hornsea Mere is a huge freshwater lake that is home to 250 different bird species and a favourite with bird watcher. Further up the coast is another seaside resort called Bridlington, and a 30 minutes inland is the lively city of Hull.

A Final Note

Hornsea Lakeside Lodges are contemporary, stylish and very comfortable. With a choice of cabins that sleep from 2 to 10 people, you can book a holiday here no matter what your party size. Spend time with loved ones and relax in the park itself, or explore the surrounding towns and villages and enjoy this special part of Yorkshire.

With Hull only 30 minutes to the west, and the sea just moments to the east, you can take part in a diverse range of activities. Shopping, hiking, pony trekking and sunbathing on a beach can all be done in the same holiday. But if you’d rather take it easy, then simply soak in the hot tub next to the lodge and spend time in the peace and quiet.
