If you long to hike for miles in wilder landscapes, head over to the North York Moors Country Park, you can wander for miles there.

The garden at the back has a large lawn creating a lovely feeling of space. It’s an ideal place to have a family holiday in east Yorkshire. Close to the coast and not far from the North York Moors, this cottage is perfectly located.

You can take 1 or 2 dogs with you on holiday to Granary Cottage. The large garden gives them plenty of space to play.

At Wilsthorpe Beach nearby, your four legged friend can walk on the beach all year round. It’s a popular spot for dog walkers are their four-legged friends.

Activities Around Bridlington

The traditional seaside town of Bridlington has sandy beaches, a promenade, a harbour and a range of different shops. Restaurants along the seafront serve freshly caught fish and all kinds of seafood. And in the old town you'll find ice-cream parlours and tearooms.

Just outside Bridlington is Flamborough Head where several battles were fought over this piece of land. There’s a light house here and a visitors centre to browse. At Bempton Cliffs bird sanctuary, half a million migrating birds choose this spot to nest each year. From March to October, kittiwakes, gannets and puffins congregate in the areas and visitors come to watch them swoop and soar.

It's a popular place for birdwatchers and nature lovers. Drive a few miles up the coastal road, and you reach the quieter town of Filey. You can get to Scarborough in around 25 minutes too where there’s a ruined castle, amusement arcades, a Sealife centre and a water park. There are lots of things for families of all ages to do in this area.

Stay in this country cottage and you get the best of both worlds. There is the peace and quiet of the countryside, plus a view over fields from the hot tub, but within a few minutes, you can drive to the seaside resort of Bridlington.

Wide beaches and a busy promenade can be enjoyed here, and when it comes to mealtimes, there are seafood restaurants and high street eateries to choose between. While you are in this area, a trip to the RSPB bird sanctuary is a must. Watch half a million birds fly and land during nesting season, it’s a spectacle rarely seen elsewhere.
