Activities in and around Morpeth

This property is situated between Morpeth a pretty, historic, small market town and Ashington, one of the largest towns in Northumberland. Morpeth is only a few minutes drive away and has a fantastic selection of restaurants, cafés and pubs.

For the active visitor there is a swimming pool and gym. Enjoy walks or cycle through the beautiful countryside. Enjoy birdwatching, fishing, strolling along the riverbank.

Ashington is located in the Woodhorn and coastal region. It grew from a few farms in the early 19th century to a large coal mining village. Ashington was known as the largest mining village in the world. Attractions at Ashington include the market day, which is held on a Tuesday.

If you prefer coastal sights and sounds, then Newbiggin-by-the-Sea is just 5 miles away. Take a walk along the promenade or soak up the sun on the beach.

The Heritage Coast is miles of golden beaches and friendly villages. There is something for all ages. Pay a visit to Bamburgh Castle and make the short trip to Holy Island. Morpeth train station is 3½ miles. It’s the perfect means of transport to take you to Newcastle, Durham, Edinburgh or York. There is easy road access for the Heritage Coast, Northumberland National Park.
