Activities in the clunbury area

All the activities at your lodge are relaxation orientated. Sweating it out in your private sauna. Relaxing with a cocktail in the hot tub. Taking gentle walks around the garden or maybe a picnic under some trees.

There is plenty to occupy yourself with beyond your lodge. Take the time to travel just a short distance from your doorstep and immerse yourself in what the area has to offer. Ludlow, home to many renowned restaurants, a splendid castle and an annual festival, is just 13 miles away as is the historic Church Stretton. Shrewsbury is another fascinating village to visit.

The Quarry is a fabulous 29-acre park on the western bulge of Shrewsbury’s loop in the River Severn. It’s a casual stroll from the town centre. The Quarry boasts landscaped gardens dating back to 1719. The statue among the flowerbed represents Sabrina, a mythological nymph who drowned in the Severn. In the summer months you can enjoy the Shrewsbury Flower Show in mid-August and the Shrewsbury Regatta in May. June is the Shrewsbury Food Festival and the Let’s Rock Music Festival is in July.

Shrewsbury, the oldest quarter of the city encircled by the Severn, is an absolute pleasure. Shrewsbury has 660 listed buildings. A large proportion are black and white, half-timbered houses raised when the wool trade was blooming in Tudor times. Also, from that period are Shrewsbury’s unmissable “Shuts”, cosy passageways with nostalgic names like “Gullet Passage”, Grope Lane” and “Peacock Passage”. These buildings have amazing patterned and carved timbers, reliefs and historic flourishes.

On the Square, the Old Market Hall dates from the 16th century and houses an independent cinema and cafe. Stop off at a delightful pub or restaurant on your way home. Many serve traditionally cooked meals made from locally sourced produce.

A Final Note

Treat yourself to a holiday or romantic weekend break in this stunning converted saw mill. Once a noisy working mill, now a luxurious place of peace and tranquillity. Spoil yourself with the charming comforts the old saw mill has to offer. Lazy days in the sunny open-plan living area. Relaxing on the garden furniture or taking a leisurely stroll around the garden.

There is a variety of sights and sounds just a short drive from you. A better way to appreciate the countryside would be to take a bike ride. Enjoy the day out knowing that your sauna and hot tub are waiting for you. The perfect way to end your day. Sharing a sundowner with family or friends. What are you waiting for? You are not going to get a better opportunity to experience this part of the breath taking British countryside.
