It will be difficult to leave the comforts of your lodge, but you would be missing out on some extraordinary sights if you don’t. The surrounding areas have a lot to offer for both young and old. Pay a visit to the medieval county town of Shrewsbury to the south. The equally impressive Roman city of Chester is to the north. The Welsh border is brimming with activities and some marvellous scenery and is just a little over a mile from Castle Farm.

Enjoy an afternoon go-karting, paint balling and canoeing on the Shropshire canal. Visit historic Shrewsbury, with the River Severn flowing through it. Across the border is North Wales. Here you will find Chirk Castle and Erddig (NT). The popular town of Llangollen is famous for its Eisteddfod motor museum, horse drawn barges and canal boat rides.
