Activities in the Sherwood Forest area

Away from the walks and wildlife which are popular pastimes here, the central location of this tranquil holiday parks means you are within driving distance of many of England’s top attractions.

Five minutes away by car you will find Thoresby Courtyard where you will find an art gallery, glass blowing studio, military museum and plant centre along with a diverse range of small shops selling everything from handmade jewellery, glassware, and gifts.

You don’t need to travel far to experience top-quality cuisine either Thoresby Hall’s Blue Grill Restaurant is regarded as one of the finest in the area, the delicious food, grand setting and outstanding views make for a memorable evening.

Sherwood Hideaway guests can also take a fantastic woodland hawk walk through the forest where you can get up close and personal with these amazing birds of prey and learn how to fly them.

If you want to venture further afield why not visit Nottingham with its splendid castle and labyrinth of underground caves, the kids will love Wheelgate all-weather theme park while history buffs will enjoy a visit to the magnificent Wollaton Hall.

This grand country house with large deer park is also home to Nottingham’s Natural History Museum and the city’s Industrial Museum.
