What To Expect

Rievaulx Cottage is pretty, quaint and perfect for two. This cottage is part of Laskill Grange near Helmsley, where the hot tub and stunning grounds are shared with other guests. 

The cottage is in the North York Moors National Park where the scenery is spectacular. Country walks, pretty villages, stately homes and museums are scattered around the area.

The town of Helmsley is nearby with its Friday market, castle ruins, tea rooms and inns. A visit to the ruins of Rievaulx Abbey is a must too. With York and Scarborough a short drive away, the location is hard to beat.

Cottage Full of Charm 

Rievaulx Cottage has a couple of chairs outside where you can sit and enjoy a glass of wine.

The view from the front is incredible, look over the grounds of Laskill Grange and enjoy the peace and tranquillity. To use the shared hot tub, pop over to the communal area and dip your toe in the water.

There are only seven cottages at Laskill Grange sharing the 7-acre grounds. This property is ideal for a romantic trip to Yorkshire, with a luxury king-size bed and comfy living room.  

A small outdoor seating area offers space at the front of the cottage to sip a coffee and read your book. 

Pet Friendly

Good place for dogs

You are welcome to bring your dog with you when you stay at this cottage. With 70 acres of space on the grounds, you won’t have to go far for walkies. The North York Moors are made for dogs. You can roam for miles and miles. Plenty of traditional inns welcome four-legged friends too so you can enjoy a pub lunch together.

A pretty, stone cottage with one bedroom, an en-suite bathroom, living room and kitchen that sleeps two people. The accommodation is all on the ground floor.

The Accommodation

The living room has a comfy sofa, armchair, TV and small table with two chairs. Some Wi-Fi is available. In the kitchen, there's a dishwasher, electric cooker and fridge. The bedroom is comfortably furnished and boasts a king-size bed and dressing table.

In the communal area, there is a hot tub for guests at Laskill Grange to use. Everyone is welcome to use the grounds as part of their stay.

Just outside the front door of the cottage is a small seating area with two chairs and a table on a patio. Parking is to the rear.

Activities in the Helmsley Area

Situated in the North York Moors National Park, the cottage is uniquely positioned to offer a choice of things to do. 

Laskill Grange was under the control of Rievaulx Abbey, so a visit to the Abbey ruins is must if you stay here. This Cistercian Abbey, roughly 3 miles away, is an English Heritage site with a museum alongside.

The market town of Helmsley is 6 miles from the cottage, here there are castle ruins, a Friday market, tea rooms and cafes. The National Centre for Birds of Prey is a new attraction in Helmsley. Perfect for families, you can learn all about hawks and owls and see them up close.

Just 27 miles away is the historical city of York. The cobbled streets of The Shambles, York Minster, shopping, restaurants and bars are all popular with visitors.

Scarborough, on the coast, is 34 miles to the east if you fancy a trip to the seaside. A sandy beach, castle and a pier give families plenty to enjoy.

Situated in the North York Moors National Park with the city of York within easy reach, this cottage offers a perfect location.

The natural beauty of the area will have you spellbound. If you are looking for peace and relaxation then it is here in spades. But if you want to have a busy day sightseeing, then take your pick from the nearby ruins, towns, markets and coastline.

York has so many things to do, you'll need to go back more than once to see it all.
